8 May - St. Goar, Germany

After we left The Tobergte's in Belgium we drove back to Germany to spend our last night in this awesome castle! Berg Rheinfels is on the Rhine river and was built in 1245. Part of it has been turned into a beautiful hotel with a fancy restaurant. The town of St. Goar is little bitty with only a couple of stores and the nicest people. You can see the town and little bit of the river and our hotel part in this picture below.
After we checked in and got our room, we went over to tour the castle. It was a blast. They had a map for us as we entered with two different routes we could take and of course we did both!
Marc had us go into every nook and cranny he could find. At one stage we were in this black hole and he was loving it and I was freaked!
After playing in the castle we had a delicious dinner on the patio and watched the sun set and all the lights of the city, the boats on the river and castle came on and it was just beautiful. Perfect ending to a perfect trip!
